Colonel of Wisdom - part 17: Sex Sex Sex

SEX, SEX, SEX

New S and M Trade Union: The Spank and File Workers of America

What’s a big thing when you don’t have it and small thing when you do have it? Sex

Can good sex make up for a bad personality? Perhaps if it’s really, really, really good sex.

When you don’t have sex for awhile, it becomes a great myth. It turns into the Holy Grail. You commence a desperate search - which just makes it harder to find.

Sex is great and wonderful and important, yet it never has and will never provide the big answers to life. It always ends up being … well, sex.

Imagine the one you are obsessing about is at the bottom of a hill of better mates.

“Sex as a substitute for intimacy” - lecture by Dr. Doofus

We ping pong between sexual obsession and sexual revulsion. Such emotional swings suits the mating habits of wild baboons just fine, but doesn’t dignify the human species. There is a middle way, a balanced way: Universal love bounded by deep respect.

Note to women: you don’t need to tell us how beautiful your breasts looked years ago; then adding a detailed description. They look wonderful right now just the way they are.

Colonel of Wisdom - part 16: Home, Conflict

Monday, January 23rd, 2006

My house isn’t actually messy, it just looks messy.

Homelessness shames us doubly, for we allow it in a world of plenty.

It sure is miserable to be sick. Being homeless, sleeping in filth, in the cold, and being sick, is about as miserable as it gets. How can we allow this great sorrow in our thriving cities?

Acting rightfully even when nobody else knows is the hallmark of spiritual maturity.

Sue someone. You may as well point a gun at their head. Don’t expect much courtesy from them thereinafter.

Handle conflicts graciously and confidentially. Don’t force your adversary to surrender their dignity. “Saving face” is often more important than equity.

The most painful wound is the bloodless one in your heart.

Colonel of Wisdom - part 15: God and Goddess

GOD AND GODDESS

The God: Birth and Death Cycle

1) Insecurity: we feel vulnerable and needy.
2) Dependence: we seek His protection and support.
3) Enslavement: we accept His demand for servitude in exchange.
4) Rebellion: in time, we revolt against His domination.
5) Chaos: without His protection and support, life becomes disordered.
6) Start over.

Stopping This Wheel of Karma:
Seek Him not in another, and not externally. Rather, find His support and protection inside of your self.

The Goddess: Birth and Death Cycle

1) Worship: we yearn for Her limitless love and beauty.
2) Objectify and Obsess: love and beauty are not experienced internally and we seek Her outside of our self. She appears to be an external object. We crave Her and get desperate.
3) Possession: we try to confine Her because She seems scarce - only “out there.”
4) Annihilate: in our quest to forcefully unite with Her we abuse and ultimately destroy Her.
5) Lamentation: we are shattered by the loss of love and beauty and mourn Her.
6) Start over.

Stopping This Wheel of Karma:
Seek Her not in another, and not externally. Rather, find Her love, beauty, pleasure, art and wisdom inside of your self.

[Note: try substituting all of the capitalized pronouns (She/Her, He/Him) with she/her, he/him and I/me/my]

Colonel of Wisdom - part 14: God, Suffering and Monkeys

Thursday, January 19th, 2006

This primate thing is getting old. I am tired of being a clever, hairless monkey. Ready for the Wings.

Power is never given. Power must be taken.

The gentle folk of this world have for too long been under attack. That’s over. Don’t mess with us anymore.

Suffering is a tool that the Almighty uses to spur animals to evolve. Not a nice procedure. Couldn’t there have been another way? What was God thinking?

Suffering is a cosmic aberration confined to our small section of reality.

Compassion is the goal of this school of learning called Earth. Suffering is the teaching method used to show us the consequences of not being compassionate. Graduates of the program demonstrate their spiritual maturity by treating everyone (including self) with kindness and respect. Thus, suffering will end when we take the initiative ourselves to be compassionate. Then we will no longer need such a forceful technique to learn rightful action and it will be dropped from the curriculum.

Colonel of Wisdom - part 13: Power

Saturday, January 14th, 2006

Sushi. Raw fish. For the prices you pay, they could at least throw it on the grill for a minute.

The money and power balance has to be right for any relationship to be right.

Sexual, financial and political abuse by persons in authority shames those who do it and shames our entire species. This behavior will no longer be tolerated.

Requiring clergy to be celibate is just plain stupid. Humans are way too sexual. If sex can’t be expressed in a straightforward manner it gets hidden behind the alter with those who won’t tell: children.

Colonel of Wisdom - part 12

Tuesday, January 10th, 2006

Overheard today, “He’d be perfect - if only he were different.”

Give your heart only to those who will treat it very carefully.

We are all compassionate beings. The only reason we allow suffering and poverty in a world of solutions and resources, is our deafness to the cries of those in pain. The problem is not a lack of caring, it is a lack of hearing.

A beautiful face does not mean a beautiful heart.

Talk nicely to yourself.

On the top of the “Not New, But Still Potent Techniques For Self Empowerment” list: Ask yourself, “What am I feeling right now?” Then, let yourself really feel it.

5 simple words could solve all the misunderstandings between individuals and between nations: “Let’s hear from you now.” Say these words often and listen carefully to the response. They are the key to harmonious relations and the cornerstone of democracy and justice.

Questionable advice: “Have sex with every person who wants to have sex with you. Think of their needs.”

Colonel of Wisdom - part 11

Saturday, January 7th, 2006

Just like computer processing power, the speed of culture doubles every year. I hope you aren’t waiting for things to slow down - so you can catch your breath - ’cause it ain’t.

Where does one find the courage to question our family, a friend, our nation, if the sad day arrives when we find out they are doing wrong?
